On the 26th of April, La Marzocco New Zealand had the pleasure of hosting a sold-out event with the Specialty Coffee Student Community (SCSC) from the University of Auckland. The club’s highly anticipated event, the SCSC Latte Art Workshop, didn’t disappoint. The session was lively and hands-on, with plenty of questions and learning moments.

Designed with beginners in mind, the workshop guided SCSC members through the foundations of milk steaming, texturing, and pouring. It was a hands-on and relaxed session, filled with laughter, new skills, and some great first pours.
Beyond the coffee, guests were treated to a deeper look into La Marzocco’s history and heritage. The afternoon included a tour of our technical workshop, where machines are serviced, bench tested, and refurbished.

For many attendees, it was their first time seeing the craftsmanship and care behind each La Marzocco machine as well as experiencing the range of domestic and professional machines on display in the showroom.
The SCSC shared this about their kaupapa: “Coffee has a remarkable ability to bring people together. Our club events—including social gatherings, coffee crawls, and cultural evenings—serve as platforms for fostering connections and building friendships within the university community. We believe that these interactions contribute to a vibrant campus life and promote a sense of belonging among students and staff alike.”

At La Marzocco, we believe in the power of coffee to build community, and we’re proud to support young people making their mark in the industry. Whether it’s a day of learning or a cause-driven gathering, we’re always keen to hear how we can help bring your ideas to life.
