La Marzocco is the first manufacturing company in the espresso machine industry to achieve B Corp Certification, joining a global community of businesses committed to supporting people and protecting the planet.

B Corp Certification evaluates a company’s overall operations and the impact of its business practices and performance across five key areas: governance, workers, community, environment, and customers.

Certified B Corps meet the standards set by B Lab for social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. Their goal is to accelerate behavioural, cultural, and structural change toward a more inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economic system.

To support this mission, B Lab developed the B Impact Assessment (BIA), a free, confidential online tool that evaluates a company’s impact across five areas: governance, workers, community, environment, and customers.

Companies must achieve a minimum score of 80 points and undergo a rigorous review process to verify the accuracy of their claims before certification is granted.

La Marzocco achieved certification with a B Impact Score of 84.4.

Today, La Marzocco is part of a global movement committed to creating positive impact for people and the planet, promoting collective action toward an economy that generates tangible benefits for society and the environment.

This commitment to transparency and accountability regarding our impact requires continuous adaptation of our practices to address evolving social and environmental challenges, while aligning with the values and expectations of consumers.

“We have always pursued excellence, and the B Corp framework is the environment in which we want to operate. Our commitment across the five Impact Areas of the Standard,” continues Lorenzo Carboni, CEO of La Marzocco, “reflects the interdependence between our technology, people, and the environment.”

The pursuit of environmental protection — integrated with the concepts of sustainability and circularity, without compromising on high levels of performance — is a non-negotiable objective when designing our equipment, ensuring its durability and repairability. We respond to the climate emergency through a concrete, data-driven decarbonization pathway. La Marzocco is committed to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its entire value chain by 2050.

Our governance — supported by a robust corporate policy framework and management systems — is designed to ensure ethical and transparent decision-making, aligned with stakeholder and market priorities through our impact materiality assessment process.

We extend these ethical and quality standards throughout the supply chain, where we have begun promoting a shared culture of sustainability.

We are a company built on relationships: the well-being, safety, and growth of people guide our strategic decisions.

Every day, we work to extend these same values to all our stakeholders, supporting specialty coffee culture and contributing actively to its growth and dissemination.

Our ability to generate a positive impact on the community is the true measure of our success, while revenue is one of the tools that allows us to continue pursuing this objective.
