We kicked off the holiday season this past Thursday at our Auckland Showroom with an open invite to our local coffee community to join us for our annual La Marzocco Christmas party – 2019. It was a great opportunity for both us and our guests to reconnect with old friends and colleagues, and to build new relationships based on a mutual love for all things coffee.
Italy meets New Zealand
Our machines are handmade in Florence, but New Zealand’s unique and robust coffee culture has allowed us to grow and thrive.
We wanted to celebrate that special connection by sharing some things we love from Italy with our New Zealand friends. We had negronis, a classic Florentine cocktail, flowing from a festive yellow Linea Mini. Our bar was serving up wines and beer either from Italy or NZ with crisp prosecco, smooth, sun-baked southern Italian reds, fragrant Hawkes Bay rosé, and a refreshing Urbanaut pale ale.
To top it off, we had pizzaioli or pizza makers from Napoli Central (direct from Naples and Rome) making authentic wood-fired pizza from their cart parked right out front of our workshop, and for those with a sweet tooth, we made affogatos with a special espresso blend created for the occassion by Vivace Espresso.
la festa, the party
Guests caught up with mates and shared some yarns in our workshop, while spilling out onto sunny Parnell Road to enjoy the warm evening light. The silly season even brought out the inner kid in many of us. As we played games like ping pong, foosball, and darts.
The famous La Marzocco claw machine re-appeared. Fully filled with a mix of pressies and swag from La Marzocco and a few Christmas elves (our generous guests). Everyone was given a La Marzocco golden coin and a chance (or three) to play and win.
grazie, thank you
We would like to thank Decent Packaging for their gift of cups and napkins. Decent Packaging provides sustainable food packaging options made from plants. Using single-use items that are biodegradable and compostable means a lot to us. We’re grateful to their team for their support.
We would also like to thank Almighty for helping us to provide some healthy, organic non-alcoholic options for our partygoers. We love their natural juices and we were stoked to try their new range of sparkling waters.
And a BIG thank you to all of our customers, supporters, and enthusiasts who celebrated with us. You’ve become friends and are welcome members of our La Marzocco family.
We had a blast reconnecting with you and even meeting some of you for the first time. Coming together to share our passion for coffee is one of the driving forces behind what we do. Thank you and happy holidays.
